With my quilting blog friends Pip, Sheila ( no Blog) and Tara :-)
I have corresponded with these lovely ladies for a while now, so it was great to finally meet them. I had already met Pip whose parents live in NZ.
They took me to two really nice Patchwork shops, then after lunch to Hetties Patch. What a treat that was. I just had to buy these two spotted pieces just because I loved them, and the blue for my Mrs Billings quilt. The templates are to make The Sunburst block and the yummy book which has some gorgeous quilts in it.
This was across the walking and cycling only path from our accommodation in Glenelg.
Home again - I went out the back door last night to go up and close the road gate – nearly put my foot in my shoe when I saw this – Can you see the mouse? I let out a shriek of course, but then realised although he was still alive he was only just.
Before we left I managed to finish a baby quilt for Braxton, our 7th GGChild.
Not so keen on the straight line quilting, but once I started it was too late to undo.

so nice to see a photo of the 4 of you as I exchange notes with Tara and Pip also - so it is extra nice to see you all together. I bet that was fun to get together.
I would have let out a scream putting my foot in a shoe to find a mouse on it :) LOL would wake you up for sure!

Love photos of the ocean! That poor little mouse, even though it was just a mouse, I hate to see these tiny creatures in trouble!
Good luck with your new project and I think the baby quilt is quite lovely, after a few washes that straight quilting won't be an issue!!!!

Oh! I almost bought that Spectacular Quilts book. But then I looked inside at the bitsy piecing and decided I'd never make anything from it. I'll sure enjoy seeing what you make with it though! What gorgeous views from your accommodations. Everything about Australia is just so darned beautiful. And I really like that straight-line quilting. It's quite "in" now, you know. You did a lovely job on that quilt and grandie seven will love it.
Lovely photos Sue, your accomodation at Glenelg had such a delightful outlook too! New pet, or just a walking companion?? Straight line qulilting is tought to do well and you have really nailed it in this quilt!
