1857 Sampler Album Quilt

After completing 2 finishes for the year ( so far) I think I can condone starting another couple of quilts.

As well as loving some Modern Quilts I also love Reproduction Quilts so.........

Gay at Sentimental Stitches is reproducing a sampler she owns and here are my first 3 blocks.

I have so much trouble ( sometimes) with my photos- I can't turn one of so I've left it sideways!

At least I’m up to date with these which is a good start!
Cheers

Another UFO finished....

for 2016. This is a small quilt I started way back in October 2012 in a QAL run by Lori of Humble Quilts.

Its only small and I can’t believe its taken me over 3 years to get back to it and finish it!
I had done over half the hand quilting, and it just got put back into the cupboard, as I seem to have had more pressing things to do.

I have quilted through all the logs, and its now hanging on the wall. Yay!!

How the Time Fly's..

I cant believe we are almost at the end of January, and I haven't posted since November when I arrived home. We seem to have been busy just mucking around these last 4 weeks of our holiday break, but have had some lovely family time, with my dear son and daughter-in law here for a week from Brisbane.

One of the projects I was determined to finish, so they could take it home, was a quilt for my grand-daughter in Australia.
So...this is my first finished project for 2016.

I was so chuffed that I managed to do the machine quilting on my Bernina 710, and I was very happy with the results.
I used one of my hand quilting templates to draw the design on.
My grand-daughter wanted a white quilt, but I just couldn't do it :-) so I compromised and did a lovely tone on tone white backing. The quilting shows up really well, so she has the best of both.

Washed and dried and in the suitcase for the trip to Aust.
