Hello every-one

At last I have finished my CC Mystery. To border or not to border - that is the question. I am leaning more towards not bordering. Please give me your thoughts. I caused myself some unnecessary work by sashing with the same plaid in the quilt. I had to fussy cut one way, but then it wouldn't work the other way, so had to fussy cut in a different direction. Fortunately I had enough fabric. I think when I bought the fabric I bought about 4 metres to make my DH and myself western shirts, but never got around to it.

I have just finished peeling mushrooms, and stewing feijoa's.. My husband came in this morning with a huge bucket full of mushrooms. I got the fruit 2 days ago and thought I had better do something with them before I went out for a quilty lunch. Guilt!

I have banned him from picking any more mushrooms for a day or two - preparing them takes up too much of my time. Mind you I can make soup and freeze it for DH to eat whilst I am away on my 3 week Quilting Trip in July.

My DDIL sent me this photo of my DGS and DGD this morning. I know I am biased but aren't they adorable.

What a pretty pair! Your CC looks terrific, you must be feeling very proud to have finished such a complicated project. My fancy would be for a narrow solid border to 'keep it all in'.

Oops comment on borders and binding should have been here. :-)

A narrow border in a darker red should frame it nicely.

This is gorgeous - congrats on getting to this stage.
Personally, I would just finish at this point and use red or scrappy reds for the binding to add the finishing touch :)

Your top is lovely!!! Do you have a plain blue that you can audition next to it to see how it looks? Maybe a small accent border of red between the body of the quilt and the blue border... just my 2 cents.

Where are you heading for 3 weeks? Sounds lovely.

Hugs,
Nancy

Oh, I love your Carolina Crossroads . . . my resolve is weakening. If I can make up my mind on a color palette, I'm gong to have to make one of those.

The grandchildren are absolutely cute as buttons. I just love being a grandmother, and I can tell you do, too!

Lovely CC top! And adorable grandchildren!
If you want to finish at this point, I agreed with Helen that a wide binding (maybe 3/8 to 1/2") of red scrappies would be great.
