Auckland Festival of Quilts.....

A great weekend with over 200 quilts on display. After scribing for one of the Judges for 2 days, I arrived on Friday morning to help on the door.

Thursday night was pretty special, as after I arrived home I received a phone call to say I had won 2nd place in the Large Bed Quilt category with my 30 stars quilt.

I asked the quilter to quilt a small flower in the large white hexagons, and to do simple quilting, which I think worked for the era of the quilt. I have used a different 30's fabric for each star, and in some cases I used some original feed sack fabric that was given to me by a friend in USA.

My evenings over the last couple of weeks has been spent watching Overlander on Lightbox...wow its a fabulous series. Quite raunchy but a lovely love story so far.

Outlander is a British-American television drama series based on the historical time travel Outlander series of novels by Diana Gabaldon.

While watching this, I am covering 5/8" hexagons. No design in mind yet, only the colours I want to use.

If you are reading this, and are local, it would be great to see you at the Show.

Bye for now
