10 days to Hand in Day

For the Festival of Quilts in Auckland, and I am busy finishing two quilts.  I am not on the committee this year, so there was no excuse not to have a quilt to show.
This one I started in March this year…. this is probably a record for me to start and finish a quilt in the same year. :-)
I started machine quilting this about 2 weeks ago and as I am not a good machine quilter yet… I am just doing straight lines.

The other quilt…..I have just collected from the quilter….and have sewn 9 metres of binding on. Now for the hanging sleeve.

you may be new to it but it looks great the way you are doing it - are there lines by the seams too or just in the middle of the blocks? I have a 9 patch I need to figure out how to do the straight line patterns on too but it is broken up with sashing and I'm not sure if I will just do the straight lines as you are doing or try in some way to do each block

They are both beautiful quilts and good luck at the show. Take care.

Oh my! That straight line quilting on the first scrappy quilt is quite striking! I love it! Doesn't it feel good to be able to say "I quilted it myself." Wonderful job, Sue. The other quilt is pretty too, but the scrappy one is the best. Well done!
