to show a purchase I made in Nelson. A lovely Poncho to knit for me. There were NO patchwork shops to get waylaid in, although it must have been on DH’s mind, as he had a dream last night where I was under a table in a Quilt shop scrabbling with fabric with another couple of women.
Never mind I made up for it when, on the Monday after we arrived home, I met up with a blogging friend Pip who was visiting her family in Howick ( she was over on holiday) and had coffee, then visited Patchwork Passion in Onehunga.
I think Pip had a pretty good spend up, and so did I. It was all her fault!! It will be my first foray into a Modern Quilt ( I hope)
Pip very kindly bought over some gifts for me, which were gorgeous. Some Reproduction fabrics, a Poppy made from felt, a lovely quilty card and a fabulous pincushion from a Sue Spargo design. I was very spoilt.
That is why I love blogging. I have met so many nice people, and formed such lovely friendships with them.

LOL - I didn't realize you had met up with Pip - I write to her now and then too and saw that she had met up with a blogging friend - wish I lived close by so I could meet both of you!
We had a lovely day didn't we. I hope you do get to make a trip to SA sometime, we can really roll out the red carpet for you then :)
I'll have to tell my sister to look for that poncho pattern, she has been making a few lately, your pattern looks a bit different.
Love the poncho pattern and the colour will be divine on you! It's only just that you get spoiled by your bloggy friends, as you always spoil me!
How fun that you were able to meet Pip, she is such a sweetie. One of these days I shall dash over and we'll be able to catch up. Such lovely treats.
Hope you're having a great weekend
*hugs*

How nice that you could meet up with a blog-friend... and that she could so easily lead you down a shopping path! I'm giggling with happiness about you sewing with fresh, bright prints. You have some really yummy ones there, and if you put them with that solid ash fabric, you'll have a winning modern quilt. I'm so excited for you! Can't wait to see what you sew!
Congratulations on your wedding anniversary Sue!! Your trip to Nelson looked wonderful, such good weather too!!! Trying to catching up on my blog reading, it certainly has been a while, nice to catch up with your goings on!!!!!
