3 More Finishes

I am pleased to say I have managed to donate 3 comfort quilts and send one to my 92 year old Uncle.

I showed his one as I was making it.See here
I quilted wavy lines on it and used scraps for the backing.

This one below was made in 1990ish and has been in the cupboard ever since. Machine pieced, hand appliqued and hand quilted. To enter a quilt in The Great NZ Quilt Show, we were asked if we could donate any quilts we either just made, or that weren't being used, for a local charity.

 Another scrap donation quilt.

The No Knead Seed Bread I always make which is a great recipe by

I had to include a photo of our lovely old Border Collie, Jess. She is 15 years old, and although is slightly deaf ( selected hearing sometimes) she is fit and well. She is /was a working dog, but now that we have sold most of our land, she is a household pet. She is so obedient, that you only need to talk in a normal voice to her, and she will do as she is told straight away.

Bye for now and thanks for reading.

What treasures you have given away! I bet your uncle will really enjoy that scrap quilt. There's so much to look at with a quilt like that. And it must feel good to pass along an older quilt, to know it will be used for its intended purpose 30 years ago. Good for you! Even though it's difficult to part with a quilt - as I often find it to be - I frequently remind myself that it's being USED, and that's most important. Jess looks like a good 'old girl. I think old dogs are especially sweet because they've settled into life. It's great that she earned her keep before enjoying her retirement years. I'm sure you love her to bits.

Uncle will be thrilled I'm sure.
Some very lucky recipients out there to be receiving your beautiful quilts.
Jess is doing well by the looks for 15. What a lovely companion.
Thanks for sharing your latest finishes.
Looking forward to seeing your next one!

So nice to see your pretty quilts and how generous you are to donate/give them away. Folks will be lucky to get them. Thanks for sharing your beautiful dog too. We are presently raising our newest, a 3 month old chocolate Lab and happy we made the decision to get him. Happy Stitching from me!

Such a colourful quilt for your uncle, no doubt he loves it! Your second quilt was a beauty to give away and I love the last scrappy quilt, nothing quilt like them.
Beautiful dog still looking so alert and he's a good age isn't he? Dogs are great companions.
