fiddling around with different applique and piecing
blocks.
As I have made 2 fairly large intricate quilts over the past 2 years, its really nice to just decide each day, what I am going to do, and not have anything absolutely needing to be finish.
I have embarked on a BOM with Sarah Feilke.
From what I understand this is a modern quilt, which will be different for me, and I am looking forward to making it over the next 10 months. I amintending trying to use fabric ONLY from
my stash, and am using all sorts of greys I found.
The start of my fabrics, but I’m sure more will be added as I go. I am using some of the fabrics that I have for my Kim McLean Flower Garden Quilt.
I find when I have them stored away for a quilt I forget they are there, and as one ALWAYS has more fabric than is needed I decided to scratch through the box and use some, along with whatever else I can find.
Sarah very kindly gave the pattern and instructions for making a block album to store the blocks as they are made, but I decided as I had this scrap booking box, I would use that instead.
Here is a photo of the first block ( made twice) and 8 stars. I decided the dark block wouldn’t really go with my greys, and I would have had to buy more fabric anyway, so I’ll keep it for maybe the back.
Now back to some more applique, as I am up to date with my BOM.

Lovely colours :)
Wonderful fabrics and blocks. I did read about this quilt and was tempted but I'm doing Gypsy Wife as a AQL.
Well done Sue - looks like you are way ahead! and so nice to use from the stash isn't it? I like the way the grey tones down the cheerful brights:)
Oh I like what I see. The grey is nice but so is the black!
Wonderful blocks, especially the churndash. I've seen several quilter's working on these blocks. It will be fun to see how the pattern is interpreted. I like your modern look.
I love those colors with the gray--very pretty! (Your Mrs. Billings is beautiful too!)
Lovely blocks! It's going to be a stunning quilt!
Your blocks are so pretty. The BOM is a lot of fun - I can't wait for next months' blocks!
Great blocks . I like your choice of grey.
Lovely blocks. I'm looking forward to following your progress on this QAL!
Your blocks just sing! So lovely.
